ZDS-PNP Fears Not Dragon year

Pagadian City – 2009, is the year of the Dragon in the Chinese lunar calendar, but to the Zamboanga Del Sur PNP Command has never thought to be frightened as what public has cried that dragons will surely hit the streets to proliferate their business, the illegal drugs or substances like the dangerous drug, methamphetamine hydrochloride or ”shabu”.


In the public far lance, “Dragons” are those who are involved in illegal drugs proliferations or sometimes called themselves drug lords, pushers, street hawks, and stone diggers.


In the latest accomplishment of the Zamboanga Del Sur PNP Command, the campaign against the proliferation of illegal drugs and other substance has become stronger especially with the provincial government actions and the implementation of the Department of the Interior and the Local Government’s memorandum circular 2009-09. Those calling themselves”dragons” must now fear the local government actions.


It may be recalled that, lately, Governor Aurora Enerio Cerilles has move to act on this problem.


“Enough is enough, this we have to stop” she said.


For the month of January and February this year, the PNP Provincial Command under the leadership of P/Senior Superintendent Ramon M. Ochotorena (DSC) has no let up in its operations.


Together with the joint operations conducted with its 905th Provincial Mobile Group, the City PNP Police Office, The NBI-ZDS Provincial Office and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-Zamboanga Del Sur Enforcement Team, the command apprehended and confiscated more or less 50-70 grams of ”shabu”(worth P370 thousand pesos).


Arrested 13 persons involve in illegal drug deals, and they are: Payno Macaumbang Y Lingas, Naslle Watahama Y Sindatoc, Zukarno Balatucal Y Parti, Nolaisa Balatucal Y Pasukong, Jessnelli Balijon Y Lunzon, Arnold Maalam Y Banawa, Ivanhoe Bana Y Parangan, Justice Sugano Y Ceballes, PFC Musal Ingoh Y Musa, Amir Ansad Y Hipolani, Renier Arong, Zolieto Jabone, and Miguel Quema Y Langga.


The PNP Provincial Command also confiscated drugs paraphernalia’s and guns and ammunitions to include, three (3)cal.45’s,one (1) cal.32 and one (1)Ingram Machine Pistol cal.9mm without pertinent papers and documents, and filed cases violating R.A. 9165 and R.A.8293 to the city and provincial prosecutors offices awaiting proper disposition.


“We will never stop, until this province becomes a drug –free province.” P/SSUPT Ochotorena said.
