Guard Shot, Gunman Collared

Pagadian City – A lone security guard was shot by an unidentified gunman and with the immediate response of the police, the gunman after a short chase was collared and arrested.


Napoleon Lumapay Jr., a security guard by profession and resident of Balimbingan, Labangan, Zamboanga del Sur while on duty at a store along FS. Pajares St., San Jose District was shot at close ranged by a lone gunman hitting his face, but as the gunman tried to escape, Police authorities arrived and a short chase commence.


Lumapay was shot by the gunman using a calibre .45 pistol and hit the security guard on his face, while the gunman who was collared and captured by PO1 Noel Evangelista, one of the responding police team was known as Tirso Puspos y Gallardo, 37 years old and a resident of Sigacad, Dinas, Zamboanga Del Sur.


Confiscated from the suspect was a calibre.45 home made with serial no. 298325 and a magazine with 3 live ammunitions. While the victim was rush to the Zamboanga Del Sur Medical Center and pronounced safe by attending doctors.


Police investigation disclosed that the suspect will be charge of frustrated murder and now languishing in jail waiting for the submission of the case violating the revised penal code to the city prosecutor’s office for proper disposition.
